Sewing workshop: over 350 young women trained!

Our sewing workshop in Bodhgaya continues to empower young women toward independence. More than 350 have already earned their certification — thanks to all who made this possible!

9 years. 60 children. Endless gratitude.
Thanks to you, L’École des Soleils keeps opening its doors every day, even through heat and monsoon.

The 2025 school year began in April with 60 children. After the break during the scorching hot June season, classes resumed during the cooler monsoon.

 

New project: training beauticians

 

Today, the young women also wish to learn the beautician trade, which is in high demand during the wedding season.
Unfortunately, we haven’t yet been able to start this program due to lack of funds…

The school grows… and moves upstairs

 

Thanks to a government grant, the family who owns and lives in the school building was able to expand their home, allowing us to move the classrooms to the upper floor. There are now three classrooms and a spacious terrace for the children.

 

New uniforms to brighten their days

 

The children just received new uniforms in symbolic colors: yellow like the sun and blue like the sky.

During a pilgrimage in March, some French friends of the school also brought the children a wonderful gift: a Karom, a traditional board game they love.

 

Our goals for 2025–2026

✔ Strengthen our fragile finances
✔ Welcome volunteers to support school activities
✔ Find partners to fund the beautician training program
✔ Organize events in France to raise awareness and improve teachers’ salaries
